Wegmans covid vaccine appointment7/29/2023 We slumped downstairs and created beds for all of us in the living room and settled back in to try and get some sleep. I turned my flashlight to Buster’s cot and sighed with relief seeing he hadn’t come to bed yet. I slugged the sleeping pile next to me and squeaked, “Buds! Bats!” I shone the flashlight on my phone overhead and saw at least two swooping bats and heard their chirping sounds. ![]() I noticed a fluttering above me and thought, “Wow, that’s a really big moth.” I came back upstairs and snuggled into bed. Sunday night/Monday morning, I got up around 12:30 a.m. Buds and I have big dreams of turning the space into a studio apartment, and staying up there helped us truly envision the potential. We invited Buster to join us up there so that all our friends could have their own space and he willingly agreed.įriends arrived on Thursday, and we were happy and cozy sleeping upstairs. ![]() In preparation for a visit from beloved friends, Buds and I were excited to create a cozy space in the attic to sleep in while they were here. You’ll want to be sure you are sitting down for this one because it’s been quite a ride. But if you come visit, Artisanworks will be at the top of the list (Friday-Sunday only ❤️). We wished for more rooms dedicated to a single concept or artist. Art covered the floor, crept up the walls and lived on the ceilings too. The tour showed there aren’t a lot of “sometimes.” Artist’s works were spread everywhere so it felt like a game of Where’s Waldo. Ginnie had asked at the start of the tour: “Do you turn away donations?” Louis gave a long answer indicating they try not to but have to sometimes. Gina nailed it with the realization that the missing ingredient was curation. When we got home, we were slumped around the dining room table reflecting on the experience. Louis’ tour was a must-see addition to the visit. We visited constructed spaces “Bourbon Street”, “Casablanca”, “Mel’s Diner”, the incongruous “Castle Room” and wandered long hallways stuffed with paintings. ![]() Louis is a man of 1,000 ideas and ambitions to transform cities, to transform how people experience art, to transform how museums support themselves. We were given a tour by Louis Perticone, the right-brained founder of the space. For artists, they buy collections always paying at or above the artist’s retail price. They support themselves by renting spaces for weddings/business functions and also lease art to businesses. They are proud of being both self-supported and huge supporters of artists. We were not disappointed.ĪrtisanWorks occupies a huge former industrial space. This had been solidly on our Rochester todo list, so we were excited by the prospect of a weird experience. We visited ArtisanWorks (“where art lives!”) with the Chan Clan last weekend.
